point3 Frequently asked questions

Who is the Course for?
This Award is for individuals who assess competence in a work environment..

How is the course organised?
To complete this Certificate you will be required to undertake two days ‘off the job training’. During this time you will learn about the theories and principles that underpin assessment practice. Once you have attended the training sessions you will be asked to complete a relatively short written assignment to demonstrate that you understand the theories and principles of assessment.

How will I be assessed?
Once your assignment for unit one has been successfully completed you will be allocated a personal tutor who will work with you on a one to one basis to guide you through the requirements for unit two and unit three and the evidence that you need to collect to show that you have assessed at least two individuals on at least two different occasions for each unit. You will be observed undertaking assessment and you will have to show that you have participated in standardisation meetings.

Are there any entry requirements?
You must have access to opportunities for you to assess individuals undertaking assessment for unit two and unit three.
